MNT 69 billion to be spent on roads

The Auto Road Office says it will build 73 km of new roads in Ulaanbaatar, 60 km of which will be completed in 2012.

The office’s senior engineer of road repair, S.Tumendemberel, told our correspondent that the office is implementing 12 new road projects in the capital.

He said the projects will cost MNT 69 billion. He also said the work of repairing roads in apartment blocks is about 80 percent complete, but has been delayed in some areas by engineering problems.

Tumendembered added that if the Ministries of Nature, Environment and Tourism and Mineral Resources and Energy decide unresolved issues, road construction and repair work would be speeded up.
