New trade center opens in Yarmag

A new trade center is expected to lower food prices for remote khoroos in the Khan-Uul district. Without a local trade center, Khan-Uul Governor J.Gankhuyag said food prices in the khroos were 30 to 40 percent higher than in the city center, due to transportation costs.

Defense minister L.Bold supported the idea of building the new trade center in Yarmag, which is a remote region of the district. The center officially opened on Monday. The center will supply food to residents of Yarmag, Nicekh, Biocombinat, and Shuvuun.
Residents will not only be able to buy food at the center; they can also rent stalls to sell goods and services. L.Bold said the center is a good example of expanding commerce in remote regions.

The 850-square-meter center includes 22 pavilions and 60 stalls There’s also a meat storage facility with a capacity of 20 tons. 100 stalls will be available for rent at a discounted fee of MNT 50,000 until the end of the year. Thereafter, rent will be MNT 100,000.
