Parliament might be getting bigger
A group of MPs says it will submit a draft law to Speaker D.Demberel that would increase the number of MPs from 76 to 99. The proposal is sure to be one of the most hotly debated issues during the autumn session.
The group says the change would make MPs less fearful of a proportional system of representation, since, by increasing the number of seats by nearly a third, their chances of being reelected would be improved.
