General Mining Corporation (ASX:GMM) to Acquire a New Mongolian Project for Coal Exploration

General Mining Corporation Limited (ASX:GMM) has signed an agreement to acquire a 100% interest in a 19.6 km2 exploration licence predominantly for the purpose of coal exploration in the Uvs Basin in Mongolia. The exploration licence is adjacent to the Company's exploration properties at the Uvs project. A dedicated coal exploration program is planned to commence in parallel with the potash exploration in the Uvs Basin.

Aphrodite Gold Limited (ASX:AQQ) announced further robust gold intersections from its reverse circulation drilling program at its Aphrodite Gold Deposit which currently hosts a JORC resource containing 1.03 million ounces of gold. Drilling is currently progressing and the Company is aiming to report a revised JORC resource in 1Q 2012 following receipt of all 2011 drilling results.

Agenix Limited (ASX:AGX) has filed an international method of manufacture patent application under the Patent Cooperation Treaty for its hepatitis B drug AGX-1009. The application aims to provide further long-term protection for the company's platform hepatitis B drug compounds through until 2030. Agenix already has a registered patent to protect the AGX-1009 compound in China through to 2026. Phase I human safety trial of AGX-1009 is expected in 2012.

Manas Resources Limited (ASX:MSR) reported a 20% increase in its Shambesai Total Mineral Resource to 766,000 ounces of gold, and its current global Indicated and Inferred Mineral Resources now stand at 1.25 million ounces of gold. The Feasibility Study remains on track for finalisation in the December 2011 Quarter. The Company looks forward to the granting of the mining license and an early move into the implementation phase of the Shambesai gold project.
