Our
President Invited to Turkmenistan

Ulaanbaatar,
September 30 (MONTSAME) The Foreign Minister L.Bold met with his counterparts
from Portugal and Turkmenistan on September 29 in New York.
These two
meetings focused on ways of expanding bilateral relations and showing a support
to each other in frames of international organizations.
The
Turkmenistan FM Mr R.Meredov said his country's leader Mr Gurbanguly
Berdimukhamedov is inviting our President Elbegdorj to Turkmenistan "in
order to elevate our traditionally friendly relations to the contemporary times
and to expand business cooperation". Then the sides focused on a
preparation for this visit and on ways of realization of joint projects and
programs in economics, energy and transportation sectors, which were discussed
during the SCO summit in Dushanbe this September 11-12.
Mr Bold also
reaffirmed that R.Meredov has been invited to Mongolia.
President
Ts.Elbegdorj Returns Home

Ulaanbaatar,
September 30 (MONTSAME) The leader of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj Monday arrived home
after having taken part in the 69th session of the United Nations General
Assembly in New York, USA.
At the GA
session, Mr Elbegdorj addressed the UN Climate Change Summit, co-chaired a
discussion on climate science, took the floor during the General Debate of the
69th session to express Mongolia’s position over issues of global agenda, also
participated as the keynote speaker at the High Level Discussion on Banning
Capital Punishment, and held bilateral meetings with heads of states and
governments of many countries.
Diplomatic
Relations Established with Saint Lucia

Ulaanbaatar,
September 30 (MONTSAME) Mongolia established the diplomatic ties with Saint
Lucia on September 27 in New York.
It has been
done in frames of the objective to establish such relations with every member
of the United Nations. The two countries have agreed to uphold as the guidance
their mutual willingness to develop and strengthen the friendly relations and
cooperation, and to adhere to the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, to
Charter of the UN, and to principles, norms and regulations of international
law.
The joint
statement on establishment of the diplomatic relations has been inked by the
Minister of foreign affairs of Mongolia L.Bold and by the Minister of foreign
affairs, international trade and civil aviation of Saint Lucia Alva R.Baptiste.
The diplomatic ties open opportunities to support each other and cooperate on
bilateral and international fields.
Other meetings
have run in this frame, for example, with Ministers of foreign affairs of
Botswana, Marshall Islands, the Bahamas, Cameroon and Nigeria. At each of the
meeting the sides discussed several matters such as a bilateral cooperation,
establishment of diplomatic relationship, and a support for Mongolia in its
seeking a membership in the UN Human Rights Council election in 2015.
FM
L.Bold Meets Colleagues

September 30 (MONTSAME) Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold has met
with his counterparts from some 20 countries while participating in the 69th
session of the UN General Assembly in New York, USA.
The FM of Chile
Mr Heraldo Muñoz officially stated that his country will back Mongolia in
becoming a member of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). The two
Ministers also emphasized a mutual confidence that Mongolia and Chile have a
big opportunity to develop the cooperation as they have many similarities,
including a wealth of mineral resources.
Mr Bold
congratulated Mr Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel on being appointed the Foreign
Minister of Peru and expressed a hope that the Mongolia-Peru relations will
boost in near future. Before the appointment, Mr Reinel worked as the
Concurrent Non-Resident Ambassador of Peru to Mongolia.
L.Bold
Holds Working Meetings with Ministers

September 30 (MONTSAME) While taking part in the 69th session of the UN General
Assembly in New York, Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr L.Bold held
Monday working meetings with Ministers of some countries.
He met with Mr
John Kerry, the US Secretary of State; Mr S.Lavrov, the Foreign Minister of the
Russian Federation; Mr K.Shanmugam, the Foreign Minister of Singapore; Mr Erlan
Abdyldayev, the FM of Kyrgyzstan; and with Mr Thanasak Patimaprakorn, the FM of
Thailand, to discuss concrete issues.
Our FM also met
with Sergio Arvizu Trevino, CEO of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund
(UNJSPF), and exchanged views with him on a chance to cooperate with the UNJSPF
in investment direction.
Established in
1946 at initiative of the UN Secretariat, the UNJSPF carries out the pension
insurance services to some 160 thousand staffers of 24 international
organizations. It currently has the capital of USD 56 billion.

Now Connected with Paved Road to Center of Southern Gobi Region of Mongolia,
Umnugovi Aimag

(infomongolia.com) The Government strives and has been implementing a national
program in construction sector to connect centers of all Aimags (Provinces) of
Mongolia with paved roads to its capital city- Ulaanbaatar.
As part of
recent Action Plan accomplishment, a heavy duty paved road project between
Nariin Sukhait and Shivee Khuren was accomplished on September 27th, and two
days later, Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag, who is working in southern region of
the country, has participated in the opening ceremony of 296 km paved road
between Mandalgovi and Dalanzadgad, the centers ofDundgovi and Umnugovi Aimags
on September 29, 2014. Thus, it enables to drive from Ulaanbaatar to
Dalanzadgad, center of Umnugovi Aimag, the furthest destination of southern
Mongolia.
In his opening
remarks Premier N.Altankhuyag noted, “The Gobi region of Mongolia is considered
a tourist destination with a rich mineral resources and mining deposits, and
the flow of transports to this region is expected to grow rapidly in the near
future. Moreover, this road will significantly impact to the expansion of
infrastructure network linking to the strategic deposits of Tavan Tolgoi and
Oyu Tolgoi. In the frameworks of connecting the centers of Aimags to
Ulaanbaatar, this newly operational 296 km road was constructed with finance of
Chinggis Bond and was accomplished shortly as a result of giving bids to five
entities to finish this road”.
The 296 km
paved road from Mandalgovi, Dundgovi Aimag to Dalanzadgad, Umnugovi Aimag was
executed by Xinjiang Engineering Construction, ESTO, Madimos, Xinjiang Jengun
Jitua and Yalguusan companies, where Durvun Tenkhleg and SRP Engineer
Consulting Mongolia have worked on the site to monitor the project.

Mongolian Players, D.Munkhzul Becomes Champion and Ye.Tugstumur Wins Silver
Medal at 2014 World Youth Chess Championships

(infomongolia.com) The 2014 World Youth Chess Championships for girls and boys
under the ages of 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 18 years old has successfully finished
in Durban city of the Republic of South Africa took place on September 20-29,
2014.
At this annual
Chess Championship, which was first introduced U-8 category in 2006, about a
thousand children from 90 countries have competed in above categories, where
Mongolian youths have participated with its 7 chess players including 5 boys
(U8, U10, two in U12, U14 and U18) and 2 girls in U8 category.
Notably,
Mongolian two youngest players in U8 category have shown outstanding results
becoming a Champion in the U8 Girls by Davaakhuu MUNKHZUL, who grabbed a Gold
medal after 11 rounds with total scores of 8.5 pts. In this category, a total
of 51 players have competed, where D.Munkhzul gained 8 wins, 1 tie and 2
losses, where a player from Viet Nam, Luu Ha Bich Ngoc with same 8.5 pts took a
Silver and Ezizova Bagul (Turmenistan) with 8.0 pts grabbed a Bronze medal
respectively.
In the U8 Boys
category, a total of 64 players have challenged and Candidate Master (CM)
Yesuntumur TUGSTUMUR (Mongolia), who is a Champion of the 2012 Asian Youth
Chess Championship and the 2012 World Youth Chess Championship, won a Silver
medal after 11 rounds (8 wins and 3 ties) with total scores of 9.5 pts. In this
U8 Boys category, Gold medal went to Makoveev Ilya (Russia) with same 9.5 pts
and Bronze was achieved by Mendonca Leon Luke (India) with 8.0 pts
respectively.
Moreover,
another two players, N.Davaa-Ochir (U18B) and N.Uranchimeg (U16G), nationals of
Mongolia, but citizens of Canada have also competed in the 2014 World Youth
Chess Championship.

in the Girls U8 category with 9.0 pts.

Premier
Gets Au Fait with SMEs in Omnogobi

September 30 (MONTSAME) In frames of his working tour to Omnogobi province, the
Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag Monday got au fait with some small- and
middle-sized enterprises.
Leaders of a
“Tushmel” LLC spoke about their products."We have already received orders,
the sales are going well," said the company who produces gers (national
dwelling) and furniture.
After this, the
Premier legged a “Khasud Bat” LLC that produces leather goods and work uniforms
and boots, also leather facilities for mining labor safety, winter and summer
clothes, gloves, children’s costumes and shoes. Since 2010, the “Khasud Bat”
has been cooperating with the Oyu Tolgoi LLC as product supplier.
Incheon
Organizational Committee Apologizes

September 30 (MONTSAME) A press conference ran on September 27 for the
Mongolian journalists, who are working at the Incheon 2014 Asian Games, to
inform about a reply to a note sent by Mongolia's Embassy to S.Korea to Incheon
games organizational committee.
A head of our
national team B.Bat-Erdene MP and a secretary-general of Mongolia's National
Olympic Committee J.Otgontsagaan reminded all that this note had been sent due
to several deliberate rude offenses towards the Mongolians such as an
unprecedented incident with the meal for Mongolian women judokas, a wrong
placement of Mongolian state flag, and referring to Mongolian basketball team
as a team from a Chinese locality.
The reply to
the note came in several days saying that the organizational committee for the
17th Asian Games "expresses a sincere apology for the above malfunctions
in providing athletes with convenience, and promises to put all efforts through
the rest of the tournament in order to protect friendly relations between the
two countries, as well as between the Asian nations," Mr Bat-Erdene
commented.
Russian
People Awarded Mongolian State Prizes

September 30 (MONTSAME) On occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Khalkh River
Battles Victory, Mongolia’s Embassy in Russia organized last week a reception
to grant some Russians our state prizes.
By the decree
of the President, the Red Flag Order of Labour Merit was bestowed upon
V.A.Babushkin, first deputy president of the “Mongolian friends” Russian
society; the Red Flag Order of Military Merit--upon war veterans N.D.Kravets,
and G.T.Pankratiev.
The
“Friendship” medal went to seven people, including Ts.A.Damdinova, a daughter
of People’s Literature Master Damdinsuren Tsend; L.S.Arkhangelskaya, a daughter
of cosmonaut S.Gritsevets, twice-Hero of the Soviet Union; and A.N.Burganov,
People’s Painter of the Russian Federation.
The Jubilee
Medal of the Khalkh River Battles Victory went to 26 people; the Medal for
Military Cooperation of Mongolia’s Defense Ministry--five people; a 2nd Class
Medal of Frontier Troop’s Glory--to one person.
Present at the
ceremony were representatives of Russia’s State Duma, the Ministry of Foreign

Prague
Zoo Director Receives Friendship Medal

September 30 (MONTSAME) Mongolia's Ambassador to the Czech Republic
D.Zuberellkham handed the “Friendship” medal on September 28 to the director of
Prague city zoo M.Bobek, at the decree of our President.
This is recognition
of Mr Bobek’s contribution to a relocating of wild horses back to
Mongolia.
The 83th
anniversary of the establishment of Prague city zoo occurred last Sunday, at
which present were Mr Zumberellkham, officials from Prague's Governor’s office,
state servants and others.
The Ambassador
thanked the zoo for its many years of commitment and investment in relocating
wild horses program, and also Czech military and civil organizations for
transporting the horses to Mongolia. The program has been recognized on
international level as the most efficient and successful project among many
development aids for Mongolia provided by the government of Czech Republic.
In a scope on
the program of relocating and protecting wild horses, fifteen wild horses
(Mongolian takhi) have been returned to the steppes of Khom and Takhi.
Shangri
La Ulaanbaatar Hotel building is under fire
September 30
(business-mongolia.com) Today, about 13.10 in local time, as officials confirm,
Shagnri La Ulaanbaatar Hotel building caught into fire and it was put down by
the firefighters around 14.40. Fire was broke from the 7th floor and earlier
finding was the electrical wire was the cause of fire.
Fortunately, no
fatality record is reported because of the lunch time, most of contractors left
the premise.
It is third
biggest fire incident in private property with major damage. According to the
official report, around $500 million invested into the project and expected to
be in operation by 2015.

Four
ministers are expected to leave the cabinet
September 30
(news.mn) The list of scheduled issues to be discussed at the autumn session of
Parliament, beginning on October 1st, includes laws significant to the nation's
economy and development. The issue of restructuring the government is not
included in the official scheduled list of agenda items, but has apparently
already been raised.
Since Prime
Minister N.Altankhuyag's announcement of the decision to restructure the
cabinet, there has been a wide range of political speculation.
The
restructuring of the cabinet in the second term of the elected government will
be conducted in the scope of the President's "From Big State to Smart
State" initiative.
The new cabinet
is expected to be restructured with 11 ministries, and Minister for Economic
Development N.Batbayar, Minister for Roads and Transportation A.Gansukh,
Minister for Mining D.Gankhuyag, and Minister for Health N.Udval are expected
to leave the cabinet.
South
Korea claims controversial boxing win at Asian Games
September 30
(news.mn) Mongolian athlete N.Tugstsogt fought South Korean athlete Ham
Sangmyeong in the men's 56 kg boxing event on Tuesday at the Incheon 2014 Asian
Games.
The first round
of the fight was intense but N.Tugstsogt overpowered his South Korean opponent.
Despite the apparent victory, the judges gave the win to host country athlete
Ham Sangmyeong.
The Mongolian boxer
did not leave the ring for a few minutes, contesting the judges' decision.
Boxing fans from Mongolia, India, China and Iran saw the fight and also
disagreed with the decision. The South Korean athlete also claimed a
controversial victory over a North Korean athlete in an earlier event.
Head of the
Mongolian National Team B.Bat-Erdene officially submitted a petition about the
judges' unfair decision to the organizing committee of the Incheon 2014 Asian
Games.

(news.mn) Mongol Rally -2014 Cross Country State Championships, held on
the 20th anniversary of motor racing, took place across 1,500-1,600 km in

Motors Showroom in Ulaanbaatar Launched

(infomongolia.com) On September 29, 2014, the launching ceremony of Toyota
Motors Showroom in Ulaanbaatar was held, where the official distribution is
authorized to Munkhkhada LLC granted by Japanese Itochu Corporation in 2013.
The Toyota
Ulaanbaatar will sell 7 types of vehicles including SUVs - Land Cruiser 200 and
70 Series, HiLux (known as the 4Runner in Australia and North America), Prado,
and RAV4; Toyota Camry sedan and Toyota HiAce van.
At the grand
opening ceremony, the 69th Yokozuna Hakuho, M.Davaajargal, who took his 31st

Gobi receives the road to the capital

September 30 (MONTSAME) The Prime Minister N.Altanhuyag Monday took part in the
opening ceremony for the paved road of 296 km in Mandalgovi-Dalanzadgad
direction. The same road is already operating from the capital to Mandalgovi.
He said that in
the Gobi region--the largest area of tourism development, mining industries and
mineral resources--will go more vehicles. "This road will play an
important role in the creating of the network infrastructure and in developing
strategic mining deposits as Tavan Tolgoi and Oyu Tolgoi".
The 296 kilometers of the hard surface road have been funded with revenue of the "Chinggis" bonds and been run by six companies, including "Xin Jan Engineering Construction", "ESTO", "Madimos , "Yalguusan".

Standing
committee head meets director of “Ulaanbaatar” university

Ulaanbaatar,
September 30 (MONTSAME) Head of the parliamentary Standing committee on social
policy, education, culture and science D.Battsogt Monday received Mr U Dog Gyu,
a director of the “Ulaanbaatar” university, and L.Urjinlhundev, a manager of
the university’s external relations service.
Mr U thanked
the Standing committee head for the audience and spoke about the university.
Invested by South Korea, the university was founded in 1995, having prepared
some 4,000 professionals since then. These days the university is
educating 3,000 students, it also has a secondary school and a kindergarten,
said U.
In response, Mr
Battsogt briefed on a draft resolution of parliament on state policy in
education and on works done by his committee. He also said the university
leaders can convey proposals to the draft document.

street-view to be set on Google Maps

September 30 (MONTSAME) A deputy Mayor in charge of finance and economics
N.Bataa obligated the office of the Mayor to realize a “Street View” project.
The project is
about setting Ulaanbaatar’s streets' pictures on Google Maps Street View, in a
scope of "Smart Ulaanbaatar Program". The project will be run jointly
with E-Tech Services, an implementer of Google Inc. in Mongolia. Customs’
temporary payment of MNT 12 million for passing photographic gadgets to be used
in the project in and out of Mongolian territory is to be paid from the city
budget, on a condition of Government recovery as it will be a work of the city
administration on behalf of the Government.
Minerals
Policy Council starts operating

September 30 (MONTSAME) Established by the government Council for Minerals
Policy decided on Tuesday to have 33 members on its first meeting.
This freelance
body will implement state policies on minerals, support/make recommendations
for the realization in accordance with the new amendments to the law on
minerals, get involved in a process of developing the sector’s short-, medium-
and long-term programs on policy implementation, regulations enforcement,
improvement of the legal environment, and will cooperate with others in
developing the public relations plans and provide the public with reliable
information.

president submits draft resolution to parliament

September 30 (MONTSAME) The president of the Bank of Mongolia (BoM) Tuesday
submitted to the Speaker of parliament a draft resolution on the state fiscal
policy for 2015.
A stability of
the macro economy is ensured when there are positive environment for the
payment balance, a stable level of the inflation rate, balanced and sustainable
conditions for the economic growth. The economic domestic and external
situations are based on the economic absorption capability, the proper policy
for accumulation and investment, the policy on keeping a stable payment
balance, and the combination of budgetary and fiscal policy. Thus it necessary
to focus on ensuring of the external balance, on keeping the inflation rate
lower, on sustainable level, and on strengthening of the financial stability,
the BoM head said.

products advertised in Khabarovsk

September 30 (MONTSAME) The General Consulate of Mongolia in Russia’s Ulan-Ude
city has participated in an international exhibition of the top sectors’
products of Far East and Siberia economy.
The General
Consulate attended the exhibition, mounted on September 25-28 in Khabarovsk
city, together with the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(MNCCI), representing eight small- and middle-sized companies engaged in
light industry.
During official
meetings, the Mongolian delegates passed to the Russian side a willingness of
Mongolia’s several Ministries to intensify the collaboration in leather, wool,
cashmere, meat and meat products spheres.

traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading value were "APU”

Hall
for education history opens

September 30 (MONTSAME) A “Historic Hall” opened Tuesday in the Government
building No.3, to display the 90-year history of Ministry of Education and
Sciences.
The action is
coinciding with the celebration of this anniversary.
The hall
presents the history of Mongolia’s education and the ministry through
interesting exhibits such as the first Government protocol on establishing the
Ministry of Enlightenment, along with other important documents and photos, a
model of first school building, gadgets used by generations of teachers and
students.
Direct
flight Singapore opens

September 30 (MONTSAME) In accordance with an intergovernmental agreement
between Mongolia and Singapore on the air relations, the national flag
carrier--Mongolian Airlines company (MIAT) launched the direct flight to
Singapore via Beijing on September 24 of 2014.
Statistics
shows that 8,000 passengers travel between Mongolia and Singapore. The new
flight is expected to increase inter-citizens travels and open a gate for

opening ceremony were Mr Yam Kum Weng, a vice president of the Changi
international airport; Mr Yap Ong Heng, a director-general of the Civil
Aviation Authority of Singapore; Ms B.Delgermaa, the Ambassador of Mongolia to
Singapore; A.Gansukh, Mongolia’s Minister of Road and Transportation; and Mr
G.Jargalsaikhan, the MIAT executive director.
The flight
OM231 from Ulaanbaatar to Singapore is scheduled to depart 6.15am on Wednesdays
and Saturdays, whereas the flight OM232 will depart Changi Airport at 6.20pm on
Wednesdays and 6.45pm on Saturdays.
