Kharanga to launch a book on 25th anniversary
Mongolia’s first hard rock band Kharanga announced that it will publish a book to mark their 25th anniversary.
The band has been organizing a series of solo concerts of its members since last year. The book will feature exclusive and rare pictures of the band.
Kharanga is a hard rock/progressive rock band from Ulaanbaatar, established in 1989 as the first Mongolian hard rock group. They have been performing since the early 1990s. In 1997, the group recorded two albums in Germany, sponsored by Daimler-Chrysler and Siemens Nixdorf.
In the 1990s, the singles “Shuuder Tsetseg”, and “Uguilen Sanana” by Kharanga became hits. Kharanga has released albums “Erin Zuunii Khug” (The Sound of the Century, 1997), Best of Kharanga (1997), “Bodlin Tengis” (The Ocean of Thought, Unplugged, 2000), “Yortuntsiin Ungu” (Color of the World, 2003) and Special Edition Gold (2007).
