Citizens demand alcohol restrictions
According to government authorities, many of the comments received at the11-11 call centre set up to collect comments about the new Tobacco Control Law have been about alcohol, not only tobacco, with many citizens demanding that the government amend the Alcohol Law to restrict the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Since the Tobacco Control Law came into force the 11-11 call center has received over 940 queries and complaints. Most of the calls were in support of the Tobacco Control Law, which restricts smoking in public places and restricts the sale of tobacco products.
The 11-11 call center also received complaints and comments relating to other issues, including insufficient public transportation, repeated power cuts, and poor waste management.
Some Mongolian citizens residing abroad have also sent requests and complaints to the center. Most complaints from abroad were related to the perceived poor performance of Mongolian embassies abroad, which they say require upgrades in their service levels.
