Coal Mongolia-2013 convenes in Ulaanbaatar
Coal Mongolia-2013, an international conference and exhibition is being held for the third time in Ulaanbaatar on 21st and 22nd February.
The Minister for Mining, D.Gankhuyag, the Minister for Environment and Green Development, S.Oyun and the Minister for Economic Development, N.Batbayar will be representing the Mongolian Government while representatives of mining companies and investors and their guests will be attending the meeting.
The Minister for Mining, D.Gankhuyag opened Coal Mongolia 2013 with a speech on the “current development and prospective trend of the coal sector”.
The Minister for Mining said in his speech that “Coal hold potential economic wealth for Mongolia beside it is a primary source of energy, used in industry and can be a liquid fuel.
Mongolia is ranked as the 10th for its coal resources regarding the more than 300 coal reserves in 15 deposits. Therefore it is a popular concept that the coal sector is a competitive one amongst the other sectors in Mongolia.
The Mongolian Government faces challenges to introduce railways and logistic policy designated to increase Mongolia’s competitive coal quality and sales in the international market.
The Ministry of Mining intends to ease the legislative environment to develop a program for the coal market in respect of a window for policy on the coal sector.”
The Minister also stated that the Mongolian Government and Ministry of Mining support by-product coke, the coal-chemistry industry and eco-friendly technologies for high demand semi-coke and commercial products.
