PARLIAMENTARIANS VISIT U.S NANOTECHNOLOGY COORDINATION OFFICE
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A parliamentary delegation of Mongolia comprised MPs N.Ganbyamba and D.Ochirbat visited August 12 the National Nanotechnology Coordination Office (NNCO) of the USA, and met with Dr. E. Clayton Teague, a director of the NNCO.
The MPs introduced to Dr. Clayton the state policy of Mongolia on developing technological industry adopted by the State Great Khural, and shared views on opportunities to develop the bilateral collaboration in implementing this policy. The MPs got au fait with initiatives of the NNCO and its activities.
The U.S government approved a program on initiative of nanotechnology with an aim to support researches and development of making reform in the spheres of technology and productions. The main purposes of the program are to conduct world standard nanotechnological researchers, to introducing new technologies in the production and service sectors, to prepare specialists on nanotechnology and to promote social responsibilities by protecting health, security and environment in order to develop nanotechnology. For the time being, 25 ministries and agencies are participating in implementation of the project, and the activities of this project are being coordinated by the NNCO.
At the meeting between the Mongolia's MPs and Mr. Clayton, the sides agreed to make mutual directions at the governmental level on cooperation in the nanotechnology between Mongolia and the USA. The sides also considered as necessary to support the bilateral collaboration between scientific organizations and private universities and institutes.
