Voyager Resources kicks off drilling at Daltiin Ovor gold project

Voyager Resources (ASX: VOR) has reported that Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling has commenced at its high grade Daltiin Ovor Gold Project in Mongolia.


The initial programme is designed to delineate the geometry and nature of high grade gold mineralisation previously intersected in trench sampling.

Trenching results included: 12 metres at 8.7 g/t gold, 24g/t silver & 0.67% copper (KBT01); 11.4 metres at 8.8 g/t gold, 14 g/t silver & 0.63% copper (K2); and 15 metres at 5.4 g/t gold, 22 g/t silver & 0.5% copper (K1).

The company has the right to an earn 80% interest in the Daltiin Ovor Gold Project. Daltiin Ovor is located 600 km south west of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar and is situated within the Bayankhongor Gold Belt in south central Mongolia.

The project has been previously trenched and drilled with skarn related gold, silver and copper mineralisation being identified in three separate skarn exposures located over a strike length of approximately 900m.

Kell Nielsen, managing director, said the company is planning to complete approximately 2,000 metres of RC drilling at Daltiin Ovor over the coming weeks with initial results becoming available later in the second quarter.

Voyager Resources said it is continuing to focus on growing its gold business in Mongolia through the acquisition, funding and focused development of high quality gold projects.

The company said the commencement of drilling at Daltiin Ovor is the first in a number of drill programmes to be completed over the next six months that will see the drilling of the Argalant, Tsagaan Chuluut and Tsagaan Gold Projects.
