Standing committee head meets senior teachers

Ulaanbaatar, May 20 (MONTSAME) Head of the parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science D.Battsogt Monday received a delegation of senior teachers.

The delegation included Professor D.Amar, chairman of the Mongolian Association of Senior Teachers; Ts.Sarangerel, a State Honored Teacher and a member of the Association’s leading council; and R.Davaakhuu, director of the city’s 50th secondary school and leader of the Chingeltei district’s Council for Senior Teachers.
Expressing thanks to the Standing committee head for an audience, Professor Amar mentioned that Mongolia currently has some 40 thousand senior teachers, and noted the association is doing works to encourage them and introducing to them state resolutions and decisions.
“By the previous law on education, teachers used to undergo a medical examination every five years as well as senior teachers of institutes and universities used to receive incentives when they are retired. Now, teachers are allowed to get retired after 25-year teaching works by the current law. It violates the law on social insurance,” Amar stressed.
In response, expressed gratitude to the association for paying great attention to teachers, and then presented to them related draft resolutions and laws being discussed at the Standing committee. Saying that an open discussion about the pension reform will be held very soon, Battsogt MP noted teachers are allowed to take part in this discussion. He added that the Standing committee is possible to collaborate with the association.
