Kazakhstan to resume flights to Mongolia
ASTANA. May 28 (Interfax-Kazakhstan) – The aviation authorities at 6th meeting of the Kazakh-Mongolian intergovernmental commission have agreed to resume flights between the two countries.
Air Astana soon plans to launch a flight service between Astana and Ulan Bator, while the Air Beck airline will start scheduled flights from Bayan-Ulgiy to Astana this summer, Ministry of Transport and Communications said.
"There is a large Kazakh Diaspora in Mongolia. The Kazakh community and the parliament repeatedly raised a question of resuming a flight service. We are particularly pleased that this initiative was backed by the Kazakh carrier and the air links will be established with several cities in Mongolia," said deputy chairman of the Kazakh Civil Aviation Committee Talgat Lastayev.
