Kyrgyzstan’s president flies to China with state visit

The President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev today flies to China with the state visit.

It will be held on May 17-21 and takes place in 8 months after the visit of Xi Jinping to the Kyrgyzstan. The number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements is expected to be signed between the two countries.

During the visit, Almazbek Atambayev will also participate in the IV Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia (CICMA), which will be held on May 20-21 in Shanghai. The Head of the department of foreign policy apparatus of the head of state Sapar Isakov yesterday said that Almazbek Atambayev will raise the issue on security of the state border.

The meeting on cooperation in Asia will be attended by heads of China, Afghanistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, as well as representatives of Israel, Iraq, Vietnam, Egypt, Thailand, UAE, Korea, India, Malaysia, Palestine, Uzbekistan, Jordan.

CICMA is an international forum for strengthening cooperation to ensure peace, security and stability in Asia. China chairs the CICMA in 2014-2016.
