Representatives of the Supreme People’s Assembly of North Korea to visit Mongolia

Delegates headed by Choi Tae-bok, the chairman of the Supreme People"s Assembly of The Democratic People"s Republic of Korea, are to visit Mongolia between 18th-22nd November.

During the official visit, Choi Tae-bok, the chairman of the Supreme People"s Assembly of The Democratic People"s Republic of Korea will meet President Ts.Elbegdorj. Mr Choi Tae-bok is also expected to negotiate with Speaker Z.Enkhbold.

Ministers will also meet Mr Choi Tae-bok during his time in Mongolia. The delegates headed by the chairman of the Supreme People"s Assembly of North Korea will also visit Darkhan-Uul province. The delegates plan to see the National University, the Information and Technology Institute and the National Library of Mongolia.

Mongolia established diplomat relations with the Democratic People"s Republic of Korea in 1948 and have opened Embassies in both countries.

The Mongolian-North Korean parliament group was established in 1998. Delegates lead by Kim Ban Su, the North Korean-Mongolian friendship group at the Supreme People"s Assembly of the Democratic People"s Republic of Korea visited in Mongolia in 2007.

Mongolia has been invited to the Spring Holiday in April which has been held every year in Pyongyang since 1986.

After the Mongolian parliamentary election last June, the Mongolian-North Korean parliamentary group reorganized and is now headed by S.Bayartsogt, the Deputy Speaker.
