TRAINING-SEMINAR FOR PARLIAMENTARY OFFICE

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The parliamentary office of Mongolia and the International Republican Institute (IRI) co-organized on December 3-4 a training-seminar themed "Supporting research conducting skills of parliamentary office of Mongolia".


The training was led by Susan V. Lawrence, an analyst in Asian Affairs of the Congressional Research Service (CRS), and by Megan Lynch, a senior analyst of the U.S Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

The action has brought together analysts of the research center at the parliamentary office, advisors on law and staff of the Standing committee on budget.

The trainees got acquainted with structure and organization of the U.S Congressional library and the CRS, process of discussing budget matters through the Congress, works of the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) and other budgetary committees.

Secretary-general of the office of the State Great Khural Ts.Sharavdorj has concluded that the training-seminar was fruitful in terms of improving skills of the parliamentary office's research center and forwarding the process of discussing budget through parliament.
