Japanese program aims to improve health care in Bayanzurkh district

Bayanzurkh district governor B.Batzorig and Japanese ambassador to Mongolia Shimizu Takenory signed an agreement on Monday.

The agreement is to make repairs and build a steam boiler at the second health clinic in Bayanzurkh. The project is part of the “Grass Roots-Ensuring Human Safety” program. The work will be financed by MNT 70 million from the program.

Japanese Ambassador S.Takenory expressed his hope that implementation of the project will improve the health care of the district’s residents.

Governor B.Batzorig said that Bayanzurkh district has 280,000 residents but only two health clinics. After implementation of the project, he said, residents will be able to receive health care in comfortable conditions.

Bayanzurkh district is cooperating with the Japanese Embassy on the project, which will also include the construction of an annex at the first health clinic.

The Grass Roots-Ensuring Human Safety program aims to provide direct benefits to the people of developing countries, and to render assistance based on the needs of the people.
