Health insurance deduction won’t increase

Ts.Gantsetseg, the head of the Health Insurance Monitoring and Financial Board of the Social Insurance General Office, has told the newspaper Uls Turiin Toim that the national health insurance deduction will not increase next year.

She said that the amount of the deduction is decided annually by the Government in accordance with the law on health insurance. At the Government meeting on November 16, 2011, members passed a protocol setting the 2012 deduction at four percent – two percent each from employer and employee – which is the same as the current deduction.

However, self-employed workers and foreigners will pay six percent of salary or MNT 8,424 a month. That’s a MNT 3,064 increase over the current amount.
