Foreign ambassadors attend trade meeting in Ulaanbaatar

In connection with the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Mongolia’s diplomatic corps, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade on Tuesday held a consultative meeting called “Trade and Economic Cooperation: Mongolia and Partner Countries.”

About 20 ambassadors to Mongolia, as well as representatives of trade and economic organizations, took part, including participants from Russia, China, USA, South Korea, Japan, the Czech Republic, and Turkey. They discussed development and trade issues.

The meeting was aimed at intensifying trade and economic cooperation with partner countries. Foreign trade plays a large role in contributing to Mongolia’s economic development, and at the end of October total trade turnover reached USD 9 billion. Mongolia trades with 140 foreign countries.

The ministry also presented awards to some diplomats who have especially contributed to trade and economic cooperation.
