Pres. Lee Says Mongolia Could Serve as Good Model for N. Korea

President Lee Myung-bak says that Mongolia could serve as a good model for North Korea in terms of economic reform.

This came during his talks on Friday with Mongolian Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold who expressed his country's willingness to share its success story with Pyeongyang specifically on how the once-socialist state got back on its feet after taking on reform and opening up to the international community.

President Lee also spoke highly of the growing ties between Korea and Mongolia since their diplomatic relationship was established in 1990.

Batbold called for increased economic cooperation as Mongolia has abundant natural resources, including coal, along with strong growth potential.
