Ts.Munkhbayar requests meeting with Prosecutor General

Ts.Munkhbayar, the head of the Managing Council of Gal Undesten Union, formally requested a meeting with Prosecutor General D.Dorligjav on September 19. In his request, Munkhbayar writes that the law banning mineral resources exploration and exploitation in river and forest basins, which was passed two years and three months ago, has not been enforced for economic and political reasons. He says he wouldlike to meet with Dorligjav to discuss this matter.

Munkhbayar previously sent a letter to the Prosecutor General asking him to investigate the prime minister and the leaders of aimags and soums who may have permitted to proceed in areas where it is banned. He has not received a reply to that letter yet.
