Speaker receives Laotian ambassador
Speaker D.Demberel received the Laotian ambassador to Mongolia, Peng Intarat, on Thursday. The ambassador is ending his official duties in Mongolia.
The Speaker thanked the ambassador on behalf of the Mongolian people for his work in Mongolia. He said the ambassador had contributed greatly to the strengthening of ties between the two countries.
D.Demberel noted that the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations will be observed next year, and he said that the people of the two countries will always support and help each other. He added that Mongolia was pleased to help pay for repairs to a hospital in Laos.
Ambassador Peng Intarat said he was pleased with the progress of bilateral relations during his time in Mongolia, especially between the two countries’ parliaments. He said the speaker’s visit to Laos in 2008 was a milestone in relations between Mongolia and Laos.
The ambassador also mentioned how the two nations are working cooperatively in the fields of health care, agriculture, and education, and he thanked the speaker for Mongolia’s MNT 300 million contribution toward the hospital repairs in Laos.
