SPEAKER MEETS PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION OF SWEDEN
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker D.Demberel has received a Swedish parliamentary delegation headed by Mr. Olle Thorell, a member of the Riksdag-parliament of Sweden.
Beginning the meeting, the Speaker has thanked the Swedish delegation for visiting Mongolia, and underlined the two countries have been developing based on their friendly relations. “Members of the Mongolian legislative body have been satisfied with the visit of Swedish parliamentary members. Widening the Mongolia-Sweden inter-parliamentary ties by bringing it into a new level will significantly contribute to expanding the bilateral relations. I support Your proposal to establish the parliamentary group between our countries,” D.Demberel said, expressing his willingness to widen the ties between parliamentary offices of the countries. In his turn, Mr. Thorell has expressed a gratitude to the Speaker for a warm audience. Mr. Thorell said he was elected as a MP from the Social Democratic Party of Sweden in 2006, and reported that the parliamentary delegation comprised delegates of the parliamentary Standing committees on foreign policy and on road, transportation and infrastructure. Mr. Thorell has appreciated the proposal of the Speaker for not only widening the inter-parliamentary ties, but also expanding the ties in other spheres. He also reported a session of the Swedish parliament aims to begin an issue of establishing the Sweden-Mongolia inter-parliamentary group. Mr. Thorell has underlined that Mongolia attracts not only Sweden, but also other countries of the European Union (EU), and especially the advancement of Mongolian democracy and reform is in the center of the world's attention. Mentioning that Sweden favors green technologies and environmental protection issues, Mr. Thorell expressed a willingness to cooperate with Mongolia in these sectors. B.Khuder
