PM receives Italian Minister for Economic Development
Prime Minister S.Batbold received Italy’s Minister for Economic Development, P.Romany, on September 19.
Batbold noted that the minister’s visit to Mongolia is the first by a member of the Italian government. During the visit, the heads of the intergovernmental commissions of Mongolia and Italy are discussing areas of mutual cooperation, which will impact bilateral relations between the two nations.
The prime minister also emphasized that Mongolia is interested in working with Italy under Mongolia’s “third neighbor” policy.
The prime minister also mentioned that Mongolia is going to open an Embassy in Rome, and that the two nations have many areas of mutual interest, including the leather, wool, cashmere, sewing, mining, and equipment spheres.
Romany thanked the prime minister for receiving him passed along greetings from Batbold’s Italian counterpart. He also expressed his interest in the opening of an Italian embassy in Mongolia, saying it would positively influence the two nation’s economic relations and cooperation.
