MONGOLIANS PARTAKE IN ROUND TABLE MEETING
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolia and the Russian Federation (RF) shared information and views on problems having arisen in the boundary collaboration. It happened at a round table meeting September 13 in frames of the 7th Baikal Economic Forum (BEF). The Mongolian side touched upon matters such as protecting the transit transportation of train, environment, developing tourism, tackling difficulties and bureaucracy facing the Mongolians in passing Russian border checkpoints, and constructing infrastructure of the "Altanbulag" economic free-zone. The Russians have presented an agricultural and tourism sectors cooperation project. The round table meeting attracted D.Tsogtbaatar, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and head of the Mongolian side of the Sub-Commission of Mongolia-Russia in Boundary and Regional Cooperation; D.Idevkhten, the Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia; J.Bat-Erdene, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development; officials of the Ministries of Mineral Resources and Energy, of Agriculture and Light Industry and of Environment and Tourism, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Specialized Agency of Inspection; and some business people. Russia was represented by V.F.Basargin, the Ministry of Regional Development; V.V.Samoilenko, the Ambassador of Russia to Mongolia; and governmental representatives of Buryat and Altai Republics. By the way, S.Bayar MP has attended another sub-meeting of the BEF titled "Developing energy sector in complex for Europe, Russia and Asia-Pacific countries" to urge the countries of these regions to collaborate in the energy sector under a unified policy.
