Mongolian team takes first in judo tournament
The Mongolian team took home the top prize in the third tournament of the World Cup of Judo “Chinggis Khaan 2011” under the President of Mongolia, which was held over the weekend. Taking part in the tournament were 164 athletes (93 men and 71 women) from 22 countries.
Mongolian athletes competed in the men’s 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, -100, and +100 kg categories, and in the women’s 48, 52, 57, 63, 70, -78, and +78 kg categories. Mongolian wrestlers won nine gold medals, five silvers, and nine bronze, in addition to winning the team championship.
