B.Khurts hearing to be held October 24 in Germany
B.Bolor, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade and head of a working group on the B.Khurts case, told our correspondent that the matter is still under investigation, and that Khurts is being held in a prison in Germany. According to his German lawyer, Khurts’s hearing will be held on October 24.
The working group of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Justice and Internal Affairs is monitoring the case. B.Khurts is said to be in good health.
German prosecutors have charged B. Khurts with abduction and dangerous bodily harm. Mr. Khurts is accused of involvement in the 2003 kidnapping of Enkhbat Damiran, a Mongolian who was wanted for questioning in connection with the murder of the prominent Mongolian politician Zorig Sanjaasuren. Mr. Enkhbat, who has since died, was allegedly kidnapped in Paris, driven to Berlin, drugged, and flown back to Mongolia. Mr. Khurts was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport in September 2010. He was extradited to Germany in August.
