Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ According to the report of the Bank of Mongolia, money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of August 2011, reached to MNT 5911.2 billion, reflecting a decrease of MNT 9.2 billion or 0.2 per cent against the previous month, and an increase MNT 2253.8 billion or 61.6 per cent compared to the same period previous year. At the end of August 2011, currency issued in circulation reached MNT 705.8 billion, increased by MNT 31.9 billion or 4.7 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 238.3 billion or 51.0 per cent against the previous year. Loans outstanding at the end of August 2011 amounted to MNT 4870.8 billion, reflecting an increase by MNT 189.4 billion or 4.0 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 1848.8 billion or 61.2 per cent against the previous year. Principals in arrears at the end of August 2011 reached MNT 67.0 billion, reflecting decreases of MNT 4.3 billion or 6.1 per cent against the previous month, and MNT 18.4 billion or 21.6 per cent against the previous year. At the end of August 2011, the non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 375.9 billion, showing decreases of MNT 6.0 billion or 1.6 per cent compared to the previous month, and of MNT 34.6 billion or 8.4 per cent against the previous year. In August 2011, there were 23 trading days and 23.5 million shares valued at MNT 116.4 billion were sold.
