Search conducted at former president N.Enkhbayar’s house

In the ongoing investigation of T.Bilegt, former chief of the Ulaanbaatar City Representative’s Council, officers from the Investigation Division (ID) of the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) have conducted searches at numerous people’s homes. The exact reason for the searches has not been made public.

A source from the Ulaanbaatar City Prosecutor’s Office (UCPO) said, “IDIAAC has requested a few search warrants at accommodations and work places. According to criminal investigation code, UCPO provided the requested search warrants and appointed prosecutors to participate in the search.”

An official from the IAAC said, “Our officers went to many different places for the search. We have acquired search warrants from the UCPO, as the case of T.Bilegt has been reopened.”

According to a reliable source, a search was conducted at former president N.Enkhbayar’s house and some items were impounded.

A search was also conducted at S.Tumur’s house. S.Tumur is the father in law of E.Batshugar, the son of N.Enkhbayar. Though E.Batshugar hasn’t officially registered his marriage to T.Dariimaa, they have one daughter together.

An unofficial source said that IAAC investigator, Uuganbayar, made a fake phone call to S.Tumur’s wife, N.Dolgormaa, and said, “Your apartment is leaking water down to my apartment,” and entered S.Tumur’s house. He showed a search warrant allowing impounding. S.Tumur’s apartment is in an apartment town near Zaisan Hill.

T.Bilegt is under investigation for allegedly devaluing Urgoo Hotel and privatizing it under E.Batshugar’s company, Remif, as well as devaluing a printing factory and its land and privatizing it under the name of the Media Holding and Eskon companies, which are registered under the name of N.Enkhbayar’s sister, N.Enkhtuya.
