Inner Mongolia First Machinery to Complete 4,100 tpy Aluminium Alloy Plant by Dec.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 23 (SMM) - Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group is scheduled to complete an aluminium alloy plant by this year’s end, setting the trend of more such facilities being built in the region.

The plant, with a capacity of 4,100 tpy and an investment of 300 million yuan ($48.6 million), will produce aluminum alloys to be used in armored vehicles and bullet trains, Shanghai Metals Market (SMM) has learned.

As one of China’s major aluminum producing regions, aluminium capacity in Inner Mongolia has now reached 2.41 million tpy, according to SMM data.

Aluminium processing industry in the region is developing in full swing by capitalizing on growing supplies of the primary metal here, with the alloy sector, in particular.

Hebei Lizhong Group, a leading Chinese aluminium alloy and wheel manufacturer, is planning to build an alloy plant in Baotou city since easy access to aluminum liquid helps reduce production costs.
