Land Permissions Forbidden Within 1300 Hectares of Downtown Ulaanbaatar
The Capital City Representative’s Khural or City Council has carried out its 3rd irregular meeting and conducted a poll on draft resolutions about city planning about arranging illegal land granting issues in the Capital City territory, initiated by political party factions in the parliament and its representatives.
The proposal from the Democratic Party faction to forbid land granting for all purposes except land auctions, bid elections and landscaping purposes within the 1300 hectares of Ulaanbaatar city centre territory was supported 100 percent by city council delegations.
Moreover, the DP faction’s initiation to annul land and construction permission which was granted on sidewalks, pavement, schools, kindergartens and hospital areas as well as near headwaters, illegal licenses that are granted on Ulaanbaatar’s engineering pipeline building were promoted.
The delegations also urgently promoted a proposal to count the state’s properties, move brick and leather factories from the city and to organize gravel carrying companies. The Chairman of the capital City Representative’s Khural, D.Battulga, named the newly issued resolutions “a historic decision.”
