Some aimags asks for hay and fodder

The National Emergency Commission (NEC) discussed yesterday some measures to be taken for the spring works and lambing in aimags.

Since localities" authorities and people had asked the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and the NEC to sell them hay and fodder at discount or in a form of assistance, the NEC considered as necessary to sell hay and fodder from the reserved fund at lower price because it is needed to prevent animals loss in Arkhangai, Bayankhongor, Bayan-Olgii, Bulgan, Gobi-Altai, Ovorkhangai, Tov and Uvs aimags.

Some 3,904 tons of hay will be given as an aid to these aimags, and 1,696 tons of fodder will be sold with a half  price. A difference of MNT 857.2 million will be allotted from the governmental reserved fund.

Last autumn, 1.2 million tons of hay was prepared nationwide, and 954 thousand tons of it have been used so far.
