PARLIAMENTARY ELECTION TO RUN ON JUNE 28

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The parliamentary election of 2012 will run on June 28 nationwide.

A resolution on this decision was backed by a plenary meeting of the parliament session on Thursday, taking votes of 53 MPs out of 62 present.

During discussing the draft resolution, some MPs were curious why the date is June 28. In response, a head of the Standing committee on state structure J.Sukhbaatar said the General Election Committee (GEC) proposed it.

After approving the resolution, the Speaker D.Demberel stressed that it is vital to realize the election law, and that the GEC will bear big responsibilities for running the election.

According to the law, the Mongolians abroad will vote on June 10 of 2012.
