SOCIO-ECONOMIC PRIORITIES AND BASIC GUIDELINES DISCUSSED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Wednesday discussed middle-term priorities of socio-economic development for 2012-2016, and decided to submit them to parliament.

The priorities are to develop people, create a good environment for working and living, boost the economy region-by-region though a citizen-friendly governance formed. In addition to it, the government wants to develop the responsible mining, to improve a competitiveness of manufacturing industries by founding heavy industries, to develop an intensified animal husbandry and an infrastructure to forward the economics.

The cabinet also decided to discuss the draft basic guidelines of socio-economic development for 2013 and submit them to parliament. The guidelines are several chapters on macroeconomics that deliver benefits to social groups, on development of real sectors, on environmental and regional development and social policy for people, on state service reform, on governance and law, on foreign policy and a defense. It is a continuation of the 2008-2012 guidelines and a beginning of works of the new cabinet.
