MONGOLIA AND FRANCE WANT TO WIDEN TIES

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolia has expressed its willingness to bring the bilateral ties with the Republic of France into a new level and to develop the comprehensive partnership relations.


The Mongolian side said it at the Mongolia-France political and economic consultative meeting between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs held on Tuesday in Paris, France. The Mongolian side also underlined an importance of mutual high-level visits and of keeping the frequency of the negotiations.

The two sides expressed a mutual satisfaction with a growth of the bilateral trade turnover which reached USD 108 million by 2011--ten times increase in the last 10 years, and emphasized an importance of expanding the ties between private sectors so that to widen the trade and economic relations. The countries said they will collaborate in organizing a visit of France's Movement of Entities to Mongolia.

The two sides also shared views on the cooperation in the defense, culture, education and health sectors and on the collaboration with the European Union, the United Nations, and on regional cooperation. Moreover, the sides affirmed their united position to bring the bilateral relations and cooperation into a level of comprehensive partnership, and agreed to expand the cooperation in all sectors.

The consultative meeting was co-chaired by B.Batkhishig, the State Secretary of Mongolia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by Paul Jean-Ortiz, the director of the Asia and Oceania of the French Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs. Present were also Sh.Altangerel, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to France; Sh.Odonbaatar, a director of the European Department of Mongolia's Foreign Ministry; and officials from the French Ministry of Defense, and of Economics, Industry and Labor.

After the meeting, the State Secretary B.Batkhishig shared views with Mr. Pierre Sellal, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, on the bilateral relations.
