EXTERNAL TRADE TURNOVER REACHES USD 2341.7 MILLION

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ In the first quarter of this year, Mongolia's trade turnover reached USD 2341.7 million dollars, trading with 113 countries from all over the world.

The exports made up USD 883.8 million, whereas imports--USD 1457.9 million. External trade balance showed a deficit of USD 164.7 million in March 2012, while it was in deficit of USD 145.9 million in March 2011. Compared to same period of the previous year, deficit increased by USD 18.8 million or 12.9 per cent.

Total external trade turnover increased by USD 511.7 million or 28.0 per cent, of which imports increased by USD 370.1 million or 34.0 per cent, and exports increased by USD 141.7 million or 19.1 per cent against the previous year.

Mineral products, natural or cultured stones, precious metal, jewelry, coins, raw & processed hides, skins, fur & articles, animal origin products, textile articles and auto & air transport vehicles & their spare parts thereof accounted for 98.0 per cent of the total export value amount.
