BANK OF MONGOLIA REPORTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The Bank of Mongolia reports that a money supply (broad money or M2) at the end of March 2012 reached MNT 6,114.8 billion, decreasing MNT 122.8 billion or 2.0 per cent against the previous month, and increasing by MNT 1,159.7 billion or 23.4 per cent against the previous year.

Currency issued in circulation reached MNT 648.5 billion, decreasing MNT 25.3 billion or 3.8 per cent against the previous month and increasing MNT 117.3 billion or 22.1 per cent against the previous year.

Loans outstanding at the end of March 2012 amounted to MNT 5,781.5 billion, increasing MNT 75.3 billion or 1.3 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 2,050.7 billion or 55.0 per cent against the previous year.

Principals in arrears at the end of March 2012 reached MNT 61.4 billion, increasing MNT 0.2 billion or 0.3 per cent against the previous month and going down MNT 19.1 billion or 23.7 per cent against 2011.

The non-performing loans over the bank system reached MNT 320.2 billion, decreasing MNT 3.1 billion or 1.0 per cent against the previous month, and by MNT 51.9 billion or 13.9 per cent against the previous year.

In the first quarter, 4.5 million shares valued MNT 3.0 billion were traded in 21 trading days.
