Foreign Minister L.Bold Meets with Counterpart of Latvia

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The Mongolia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs L.Bold Thursday met with his counterpart of Latvia Mr Edgars Rinkevics who is accompanying the President of Latvia visiting here.

Mr Bold expressed a satisfaction with the official visit of the Latvian President to Mongolia in accordance with the talks between the Foreign Ministers when Mr Bold visited Latvia in January of 2014. Mr Rinkevics also expressed his satisfaction with visiting Mongolia.
The sides shared views on the Mongolia-Latvia cooperation in the spheres of politics, economy, culture, education and other fields, and discussed a matter on promoting the Mongolia-EU relations and cooperation in conjunction with forthcoming Latvia’s chairmanship of the EU.  


Mongolian Tourism Promoted in Australia

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) A tourism promotional event under a name of “Introducing Mongolia” was held at the Embassy of Mongolia in Canberra on June 10.
During the event, short video about Mongolia was shown to the guests, and Mr B.Gansuh, director of the Mongolian Experience Travel co and Mr Michael Tonkin, director of Sales and Marketing of the Russian Travel Centre briefly presented briefly on their tour products.
Ambassador of Mongolia to Australia Mr Bold noted that Mongolia is a unique destination for foreign tourists especially for the Australians. Guests enjoyed Mongolian traditional meal ‘buuz’ (dumpling).
Organized by the Embassy of Mongolia in Australia in cooperation with the Russian Travel Centre, a Sydney-based Australian tour company, the event was attended by 32 travel agents representing Flight Centre, Harvey World Travel, Weston Cruise, Maria Slate, Capital Travel, Cruiseabout, Jetset Southlands, Students Flights, Escape Travel, Reis and James Travel Associates and Active Travel.


Meeting Held with Italian Businessmen

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The Embassy of Mongolia in Italy and the Italy-Mongolia commercial chamber Wednesday co-organized a business meeting in Rome, gathering representatives of some 40 enterprisers and companies.
During the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Italy Mr Sh.Odonbaatar gave details to Italian businessmen on a present economic situation and business environment in Mongolia and legal regulations, and then made a presentation about the Investment Agency of Mongolia.
The meeting brought together delegates of the biggest organizations and companies such as the “Selex ES” and the Union for Small- and Middle-sized Enterprisers. They expressed a willingness to do business in Mongolia.


Turkish National Assembly Speaker to Visit Mongolia

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) Upon invitation of parliament Speaker Z.Enkhbold, his counterpart of Turkey Cemil Cicek is to visit Mongolia on June 24-27.
During his visit here, Mr Cicek is expected to meet government high-rank officials to held negotiations on cooperation matters between the two countries.
Cemil Cicek (born 15 November 1946 in Yozgat) is a Turkish politician who is the current Speaker of the Parliament of Turkey since 4 July 2011. He served as the Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey and Justice and Development Party Member of Parliament from Ankara. He was formerly Minister of Justice and government spokesman.
He was born on 15 November 1946 in Yozgat, Turkey. He graduated from the Law Faculty of Istanbul University. In 1983, he joined the centre-right Motherland Party (ANAP). He became an ANAP MP for Yozgat, and in the late 1980s Minister of State responsible for "the family". In this role he was known for his conservative views on matters of sex and marriage.


Urban Development Ministry to Run Open Day Event

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The Ministry for Construction and Urban Development is planning to organize an open day event on June 14.
Promoting government action plans and government policies to the public, the event will be attended by the staffs from the Ministry, along with the Construction Development Center, the National Construction Association of Mongolia, the Mongolian Association of Civil Engineers, and the Trade Union of Construction Workers.


Permanent Rep Attends ARF Senior Officials Meeting

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) A delegation headed by Ts.Jambaldorj, the Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) participated in the regular ARF Senior Officials Meeting held June 8-9 in Yangon, Myanmar.
The participants from 27 countries shared views and expressed their positions over specific matters on the regional and international security including the Korean Peninsula, territorial disputes in South China Sea, terrorism, situations in Afghanistan and Thailand and elections in Ukraine.
In his speech, Mr Jambaldorj congratulated Myanmar on successfully chairing the ASEAN in 2014, and reaffirmed that Mongolia wants to become a partner of the ASEAN Dialogue. He hoped that Mongolia will participate for the first time in the ASEAN Foreign Ministerial Meeting at an invitation of its chairman.
In addition, the Mongolian side put forward a proposal to run a measure together with an ASEAN member state on one of the topics of disaster prevention, rescuing, peacekeeping or cyber security, within the 2014-2015 ARF inter-session years.
The Mongolian delegation held meetings with officials from Russia, China, USA, Australia, New Zealand and the European Union.


FM Meets Japanese Foreign Deputy Minister

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) Foreign Minister L.Bold met Thursday with Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan Seiji Kihara on June 6.
At the beginning of the meeting, Mr Bold expressed a pleasure with advancing development of Mongolia-Japan relationship and cooperation into a level of strategic partnership, and highlighted the impetus reciprocal visits of the Prime Ministers of the two countries have given to relations between Mongolia and Japan.
Highlighting the importance of Economic Partnership Agreement in developing the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, Mr Bold expressed a confidence that the document will be signed within this year.
Mr Kihara promised that he will make efforts in developing active political and economic relationship between the two countries.


Average Wage Stands at MNT 760,000

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The National Statistic Office has recently completed an average wage study among employees in Mongolia.
According to results of the study, the national average wage stands at MNT 760 thousand (USD 415). The study covered some 33 thousand entities operating in the nation. A great gape has been observed between the genders, as the averages have been calculated at MNT 830 thousand (USD 455) for men and smaller MNT 700 thousand (USD 384) for women.
Highest earners in the nation are mining employees, who averagely receive a monthly wage of MNT 1.7 million (USD 932). The smallest wages to workers engaging in small business, who are entitled to MNT 340,000 (USD 186) at average.


Trilateral Business Forum Held

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The 10th edition of Mongolia-Russia-China trilateral business forum was successfully held in Ulaanbaatar on June 12.
Organizers of the event were the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mongolia, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Russia and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
The forum aimed at promotion of business activities between the neighboring three countries, and at jointly finding solutions to facing problems on the matters.


Stock Exchange News for June 13

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) At the Stock Exchange trades held Friday, a total of 13 million 292 thousand and 669 shares of 17 JSCs were traded costing MNT two billion 999 million 636 thousand and 923.00.
"Silikat” /13 million 289 thousand and 393 units/, "Mongol savkhi" /821 units/, "Sharyn gol” /808 units/, "State Department Store" /598 units/ and "Mongolia Telecom” /386 units/ were the most actively traded in terms of trading volume, in terms of trading value--"Silikat” (MNT two billion 990 million 113 thousand and 425), "Sharyn gol" (MNT five million 736 thousand and 800), "Mongol savkhi” (MNT 949 thousand and 329), "Gobi” (MNT 642 thousand and 175) and "Mongolia Telecom” (MNT 558 thousand and 928).
The total market capitalization was set at MNT one trillion 549 billion 550 million 667 thousand and 162. The Index of Top-20 JSCs was 15,166.50, increasing by MNT 265.39 or 1.78% against the previous day.


Experts of Mongolia and China Collaborate in Restoration of Ancient Site

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) Culture Authorities of Mongolia and China signed Tuesday a cooperation contract to restore Kherlen Bars ruins of an ancient settlement in eastern Mongolia.
Representing the Mongolian side, P.Altangerel, State secretary for the Ministry for Culture, Sport and Tourism signed the contract together with Yang Qingdong, political advisor at the Chinese Embassy in Ulaanbaatar from the Chinese side.
Under the contract, the sides will collaborate in restoration efforts of the small scale ruins in Dornod province, which once were part of the ancient Kitan state in the 10th century.
Kherlen Bar the location of some small-scale ruins and a 3 m high with some balbals (Turkic stones believed to be grave marker) and rock called the “Chinggis Bed”, which commemorates his stay here. Kherlen Bar is about 90 km west of Choibalsan town, the center of Dornod province.


Here Come Turkey Days

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) Celebrating the 45thanniversary of Mongolia-Turkey diplomatic relationship, days of Turkey will be held in Ulaanbaatar on June 17-20.
The event will be organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Ulaanbaatar, in collaboration with the Turkish Airlines, Aydiner Group, 216 Yapi Co and Kempinski Khan Palace. The program of Turkey days include a Turkish food event in Kempinski hotel on June 17, and in the Turkey Embassy on June 19, and ‘Serap Pollard London’ fashion show in the Embassy on June 20.  During the event, Turkish music group Mogollar will perform in Ulaanbaatar together with Mongolian Kharanga band.


Mongolian Judokas at IJF Rankings

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) The International Judo Federation (IJF) released the latest world rankings of judokas on June 10.
According to the rankings, a State Honored Sportswoman and World champion M.Urantsetseg led the judo rating for women’s 48 kg category with 2,598 points. She was followed by a Brazilan judoka and Olympic champion Sarah Menezes who has 2,182 points; and Cuban judoka Maria Celia Laborde (1,240 points).
In the men’s -60 kilo category, two Mongolians G.Boldbaatar (1,516 points) IMS and D.Amartuvshin, a silver medalist of the World Championship (1,428), were ranked at fourth and fifth places, respectively. Another Mongolian G.Kherlen stood at 10th place in this category with 946 points.
An international master of sports D.Tomorkhuleg went down to fifth place in the men’s 66 kg category, having 1,324 points, where a Brazilian judoka Charles Chibana topped the category with 1,786 points. Other top judokas of Mongolia S.Nyam-Ochir and Kh.Tsagaanbaatar kept their 7th and 10th places, respectively. An Olympic champion N.Tuvshinbayar kept 16th place in the men’s -100 kg.
An international master of sports D.Sumya maintained 7th place in the women’s -57 kilo category.


Mongolian and English Musicians to Perform Beatles Tribute

Ulaanbaatar, June 13 (MONTSAME) In the celebration of the semi-centennial of Beatles music, Sharon Goldhawk of the International Women’s Association Mongolia (IWAM) has created a new event for cultural diplomacy in Mongolia: "Beatles Tribute Mongolia".
At the event English and Mongolian musicians and performers will sing live, unplugged and acoustic versions of songs of Beatles in tribute to the great band on June 15 in the Sant Asar bar and Lounge.  During the event, the Beatles tribute raffle or auction is expected to take place among the audience.
The organizers are recommending the audiences to dress in Bohemian 1960’s style in order to feel the atmosphere better. Proceeds of the event will go to support IWAM charity projects helping vulnerable women and children.
The Beatles were an English rock band that formed in Liverpool, in 1960. With John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the greatest and most influential act of the rock era.
In the early 1960s, their enormous popularity first emerged as "Beatlemania", but as their songwriting grew in sophistication they came to be perceived as an embodiment of the ideals shared by the era's sociocultural revolutions.


Live show to be staged at Chinggis Khaan Square

June 13 (news.mn) The Cultural Merit Figure and Honored composer of the Republic of Kalmykia, Arkady Mandjiev, has landed in Mongolia.
Arkady Mandjiev is to stage a live show performance for Mongolians called “Pray for great ancestries” at Chinggis Khaan Square for free of charge on June 15th.
As part of the live show performance many musicians will perform including “Kalmykia” group by Arkady Mandjiev, the front man of Chinggis Khaan rock band State Merit Artist of Mongolia D.Jargalsaikhan,  “Gurvan buduun”, Bobo and other Mongolian bands and singers and Inner Mongolia`s Torghut singer Khalin, and China`s ethnic Jalam khar.
Co-organizers of the live show performance are "Jack and Jack" entertainment, the Ulaanbaatar Ensemble, the Mongolian Military Song and Dance Academic Ensemble, and the Kalmyk Cultural Center.


Mongolia and Turkey to Commemorate 45th Anniversary

of Diplomatic Relations in Ulaanbaatar on June 17-20, 2014

June 13 (infomongolia.com) In the scope of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey marks this year, the commemorating celebrations will be held in Ulaanbaatar on June 17-20, 2014.
The celebration will be organized by the Embassy of Turkey in Ulaanbaatar in collaboration with the Turkish Airlines, “Aidiner” Group, “216 Yali” Construction Company and Kempinski Khaan Palace.
The Turkish Food Days will be held in Kempinski Khaan Palace on June 17 and at the Embassy of Turkey on June 19 respectively.
Also, Turkish art exhibition, musical performance and model show will be organized at the Embassy of Turkey in Ulaanbaatar on June 20, 2014.
Besides, poetry and essay competitions among students of the secondary school No. 5 named after Mustafa Kemal Ataturk will be held these days.
Moreover, “Mogollar” (Mongols in Turkish) Turkish rock music band will be staging at the Chinggis Square on June 20, notably Mongolian famed rock band “Kharanga” will join the event.
Following the celebration days, the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey Mr. Cemil Cicek will be paying an official visit to Mongolia on June 24-27, 2014, upon the invitation of his counterpart of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia, Mr. Zandaakhuu ENKHBOLD.
Mongolia and the Republic of Turkey have established the diplomatic relations on June 24, 1969.


Cabinet of Government Resolves to Allow Citizens of 42 Countries to Travel Mongolia Visa-Free in 2014-2015

June 13 (infomongolia.com) In recent days, the Cabinet of the Government of Mongolia holds its meeting twice a week in order to implement on time the Government announced 100 Days Action Plan.
The latter Cabinet meeting was held on June 12, 2014, where one of the issues resolved was agreed to welcome Mongolia nationals of 42 countries from Africa, Europe and Latin America regions under visa-free terms.
The countries allowed are considered states with small populations, high per capita Gross Domestic Product and leading nations in the Human Development Index, moreover isolated from Mongolia in terms of geographical locations and will be traveling Mongolia under tourist purposes in two years only or in 2014-2015.
In the list of countries permitted to travel Mongolia visa-free, states of the Russian Federation, People's Republic of China and Republic of Korea are not included.
As of today, nationals of the United States of America, Japan, Federal Republic of Germany and Canada are allowed to enter Mongolia visa-free with any types of passport, and citizens of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland holding Diplomatic passports are also not required to be issued a visa to enter Mongolia.
According to newly issued resolution, the budget revenue deficit from visa allocation service of some Mongolian diplomatic missions abroad will be commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia and will be included in the Ministry’s 2014 budget and in the 2015 State Budget respectively, where Foreign Minister L.Bold and Finance Minister Ch.Ulaan are obliged to take necessary measures.


Mongolians to Commemorate Che Guevara’s Birthday

June 13 (infomongolia.com) Director of the Agency for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection O.Magnai and the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba in Ulaanbaatar called a press conference to celebrate the date of birth of a major figure of the Cuban Revolution, Che Guevara, which was announced at the National Press Center on June 12, 2014.
During the press conference, Director O.Magnai stressed the commemorating will be held not having connection with public servant, just in terms of his individual interests and said the reason to celebrate was because Che Guevara used to stay on his positions not striving to hold office and who devoted his life fight for the interests of ordinary people.
In the scope of celebration, the Embassy of Cuba is displaying "Che Guevara Life" photo exhibition at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery on June 14-16, 2014, where opening will be held at 10:00 am on June 14 and open and free for public.
Also, Cuban singer and composer Eduardo Sosa will perform at the Central Cultural Palace in Ulaanbaatar at 03:00 pm on June 14, 2014.
