Top stars for wrestling GP

NEW DELHI: Over 300 wrestlers and officials are likely to take part in the inaugural edition of the Hari Ram Indian Wrestling Grand Prix which begins in the Capital on May 25.

The three-day tournament has attracted some big names including 2011 World Cup bronze medalist Giorgi Sakandelidze (120kg) of Georgia, Olympic qualification gold medalist Yusup Abdulalamov (84kg) of Tajikistan and 2010 Asian Championship silver medalist Nomin Batbold (55kg) of Mongolia.

The event will see a host of Olympics-bound grapplers as Asian and European Games winners lock horns in seven weight categories in men's and women's sections. The women's field includes London-bound Mongolia's Burmaa Ochirbat (72kg), France's Cynthia Vanessa Vescan (72kg) and Ifeoma Iheancho (67kg) of Nigeria.
