PRESIDENT RECEIVES DIPLOMATIC CREDENTIALS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj received on Tuesday diplomatic credentials from Eugenio Bregolat-Obiols, the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain; and Ranjit Uyangoda, the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to Mongolia.

At the meetings after this ceremony, Mr. Obiols recalled that he visited Mongolia for the first time in 1978 while being an assistant to late Juan Antonio Samaranch, the IOC President, and said Mongolia has greatly developed since that time. He promised to work for widening the Mongolia-Spain diplomatic relations in all spheres.

The Ambassador of Sri Lanka Mr. Uyangoda expressed satisfaction with presenting the credentials to the State Head of Mongolia and with the coincidence of the 50th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations celebrated this year. "Our countries have ancient Buddhism relations, our peoples are friendly to each other," Mr. Uyangoda said, and added he will actively work to deepen the Mongolia-Sril Lanka relations.
