Mongolian Conquers Roof of the World During Deadly Everest Week

The International rank Master of Sports, S.Bat-Erdene, who successfully climbed the roof of the world, arrived in Ulaanbaatar yesterday morning.
He left Mongolia on April 8th, 2012 and made it to the Mt. Everest peak on May 19th, 2012 together with his team.

This information was delivered by a Sherpa team from the Everest North Cole International Expedition 2012 by phone call to Mongolia Expeditions LLC, who is in charge of the foreign relations and logistics for his trip.

S.Bat-Erdene, together with seven other mountaineers from Canada, Spain and Nepal all belonging to Everest North Cole International Expedition 2012, started their climb from the Tibetan side.

The Head of the Mountaineering Federation of Erdenet City and International Master of Sports, S.Bat-Erdene, has climbed all the Mongolian glaciated mountains, Mt. Elbrus, the highest peak of Europe, and Mt. Fuji in Japan in 2010 respectively.

The initial record breaker in Mongolian mountaineering history was State Merit Athlete, G.Usukhbayar, who made it to the top of Mt. Everest on May 30th, 2005 and hoisted the Mongolian flag at the peak. He was followed by his female counterpart, State Merit Athlete B.Gangaamaa, who conquered the mountain on May 21st, 2011. Now, on May 19th of this year the third Mongolian man, S. Bat-Erdene, has succeeded in leaving his foot prints on Mt. Everest, the roof of the world, at a time when several other mountaineers have succumbed to mountain. His survival is a feat in itself.
