PUPILS WIN GOLD MEDALS IN WORLD SCHOOL CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ Mongolian pupils grabbed two gold and one bronze medals in the World School Chess Championship 2012 which ran April 28-May 6 in Iasi city, Romania.
Mongolia has been represented by 16 players in the tournament. Ts.Lhagvasuren and E.Baasansuren won gold medals in the open contests "under 17" and "nine year-old" categories, G.Maralgua won a bronze in the girls' "under 7-year old" event.
This year's tournament has been co-organized by the Iasi County Chess Association, the Romanian Chess Federation, the City Hall of Iasi, the FIDE and the International School Chess Union among boys and girls in categories of under 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 years old.
