PREMIER ATTENDS "OPEN DAY" OF AGRICULTURAL MINISTRY
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ A goal of the government to fully provide its people with healthy and not-imported foods has been realized, says the PM.
He said it while participating in the "Open day" event of the Ministry of Food Agriculture and Light Industry on Thursday on the Sukhbaatar square. It is proved by the fact that the last year's harvest fully covered the nation's demand in wheat and potatoes, and in vegetables by 63 per cent, he said.
Within the campaign called “The people government together with its people”, the Agricultural Ministry has reported on its works of the last four years, and is accepting proposals from people.
“We have achieved successes in the sectors of food, agriculture and light industry. Now the government will do all the best to keep these results by developing co-operatives of herders and establishing exchange of raw materials,” S.Batbold underlined. The government is taking complex measures for supporting small- and middle-sized productions within projects and programs such as “State Policy on Herders”, “Mongolian Livestock”, “Food safety” national program, “Five Treasures”, he added.
The Ministry's latest report says that the 2008-2012 governmental program with 96 works and 38 is going with 96 per cent in the food, agriculture and light industrial sectors.
In scope of the campaign ”The people government together with its people”, own "Open day" events will run the Ministry of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Social Welfare and Labor, the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and the Ministry of Defense until May 25.
