Mongolian PM vows to push forward Mongolia-China partnership

ULAN BATOR, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Mongolian Prime Minister Sukhbaatar Batbold said Thursday that his government will strengthen cooperation in various fields with China to push forward the bilateral strategic partnership.

At a meeting with Xu Caihou, vice chairman of China's Central Military Commission, Batbold said developing friendly relations with China is a chief goal of Mongolia's foreign policy.

He said his government will continue to adhere to the one-China policy, and understands and respects China's stance on Tibet.

Batbold said Mongolia considers China's rapid development as a great opportunity for Mongolia and wants to maintain high-level contacts with China to further promote bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Xu said China and Mongolia are important neighbors, which are culturally close and economically complementary.

With joint efforts, bilateral ties in all areas have made strides in recent years and brought great benefits to the two peoples, Xu said.

He stressed that China attaches great importance to developing China-Mongolia ties and is willing to work with Mongolia to ensure long-term steady and sound development of the China-Mongolia strategic partnership.

Xu arrived here Wednesday night for an official visit.
