MONGOLIA-CZECH INTERGOV'T MEETING HELD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The 4th regular meeting of the Mongolia-Czech intergovernmental joint commission was concluded on Tuesday in Ulaanbaatar city.

This meeting was co-chaired by Ts.Dashdorj, Mongolia's Minister of Road, Transportation, Construction and Urban Development, and by the Deputy Minister Mr. Hovarka.

An opening remark was made by the Minister Ts.Dashdorj, a head of the joint commission for the Mongolia's side. He noted that the economic growth of Mongolia has reached 17.3 per cent, and the size of foreign investments to Mongolia has increased by five times. "The economic growth of Mongolia is expected to continue. Although the Mongolia's economy is depend on mining, the government is paying a great attention to specializing the economy. So, our countries have a big opportunity to develop the multi-lateral cooperation," he said.

The sides shared views on the bilateral collaboration in the trade, economics, investment, energy and urban development sectors. Moreover, they raised issues on seeking opportunities for the mutually-beneficial cooperation in all sectors such as exploitation of mineral resources, mining, land farming, food production, water resources and environment protection, and then noted the joint commission has been supporting the ties and collaboration of business organizations between the countries.

Ts.Dashdorj emphasized that Mongolia is ready to determine specific projects on the infrastructure, construction and energy spheres, and to support related organizations. Mentioning about the bilateral historical relations and cooperation, Ts.Dashdorj underlined the countries are co-implementing projects on repairing of the #4 thermal power station, the State Central Hospital and the factory of foods, and on water resources and sewage plan.

As the results of the meeting, the Czech side agreed to build an annex of the State Central Hospital with aid, and also expressed a readiness to realize projects on improving water resources in southern and western aimags, and on purifying water.
