"MINING MONGOLIA-90" INT'L FORUM BEGINS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The “Mining Mongolia-90” international open forum kicked off on Wednesday in Ulaanbaatar city in frames of celebrating the 90th anniversary of founding of the mining sector of Mongolia.

Co-organized by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy and the Mineral Resources Authority, the two-day forum has attracted some 1,500 people, including the State Head, the PM, the Parliament Speaker. One fifth of the gathered are delegates from Russia, China, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Korea and Japan, who have come to discuss a present situation of the mining sector in Mongolia.

In addition, state bodies, professional unions, sponsor companies and other participant entities have mounted exhibitions to present their directions and activities.

On the first day of the forum, 52 reports were given by Ministers, MPs, department heads of Ministries and agencies, economists, researchers, authorities of professional unions, and officials from the Tax Authority and the Presidential Office.
