PRESIDENT RECEIVES HEADS OF DIPMISSIONS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received on Monday ambassadors, charge d'affaires of the embassies and permanent representatives of international organizations in Mongolia to pass them the New Year greetings.


A Doyen of the diplomatic corps in Mongolia and ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Mongolia Mr. Orman K.Nurbayev greeted the state leaders and people of Mongolia on the New Year. He noted that Mongolia celebrated last year the biggest anniversaries and that the 850th anniversary of Chingis Khaan will be marked this year. He said the external relations of Mongolia gained big achievements, for example, Mongolia took the presidency of the Community of Democracies (CD). The economic growth has been rapid in Mongolia and number of new vacancies is increasing, and 2012 will be a challenging year in terms of the world economics, he said and wished the Mongolian people eternal blue skies and prosperity.

In turn, the State Head Ts.Elbegdorj mentioned that the economic growth of Mongolia is reaching ten per cent and the external trade turnover exceeded USD 10 billion for the first time. “Although Eurozone countries are suffering from an economic crisis today, Mongolia expect to overcome the crisis thanks to the economic stability in Asian countries, especially in China,” the President said.

Ts.Elbegdorj mentioned that Mongolia celebrated last year the biggest jubilees such as the 100th anniversary of Mongolian contemporary diplomatic service, 50th anniversary of joining the United Nations and others, and emphasized an importance of the chairmanship of the CD. Mongolia established diplomatic relations with 12 countries, and a number of diplomatic missions of Mongolia to foreign countries reached 39, he said. “Our foreign policy will continue normally after this year's parliamentary election,” he added.

Present at the meeting were the Parliament Speaker D.Demberel and the Premier S.Batbold.
