MP asks about rising fuel prices in aimags

On Monday, Chief of the Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy Ya.Batsuuri sent a query to Prime Minister S.Batbold about rising gasoline prices in some aimags.

The query says that gasoline and diesel have been sold in Dornogobi, Gobisumber, and Dornod aimags at higher prices than in other aimags. Residents of the mentioned aimags complain about the high prices, which are putting pressure on their living standards and local economies.

Ya.Batsuuri writes that gasoline prices in Dornogobi, Gobisumber, and Dornod aimags are more expensive than in Umnugobi, Dundgobi, and Sukhbaatar aimags without a good reason. Also, gasoline prices in Sainshand, Choir, and Choibalsan are more expensive by MNT 100 to MNT 200 than Ulaanbaatar prices.

That is why the MP is asking the Government to regulate gasoline prices in remote local settlements and aimags; to monitor gasoline prices in Dornogobi, Gobisumber, and Dornod aimags; and to take measures against petroleum importers that violate laws on consumer rights and on competition.
