Petroleum importers face fines of MNT20 billion

According to a special meeting decision of the Government on January 13, petroleum importer organizations to be charged due to gasoline increase without basis.

Petroleum importers have had a plot to increase petroleum products price and consumer goods and service price have been increased. In accordance of the law, petroleum importers to pay six percent of total profit and petroleum importer organizations face to totally pay fines of MNT20 billion.

Also the meeting concluded that Mineral Resources and Energy Deputy Minister B.Ariunsan has had mistake at his post because he has violated legislation. B.Ariunsan has decided to increase gasoline price from MNT220 to MNT280 on January 6. The working group under the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Energy headed by B.Ariunsan could decide petroleum product price along excise and customs taxation.
