BOTH FACTIONS DISCUSS FUEL PRICE SOAR

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia /MONTSAME/ The faction of the Mongolian People's Party (MPP) discussed on Monday fuel price soar.

It set up a working group to determine whether the price soar was caused by U.S dollar's rate or not. The group has O.Chuluubat, Ts.Davaasuren and Ch.Ulaan MPs. The have already started working in the Bank of Mongolia.

A leader of the faction O.Enkhtuvshin said it is too early to blame or punish someone, "because the reasons have not been determined yet". He added that the prce soar might br influenced by the politics, "for example, by a statement of the Democratic Party to leave out the coalition government and by a permission, given to fuel importers to augment the prices, by the Vice Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy and his commition."
Then the faction considered two draft laws on press freedom submitted by the State Head and by the government. The faction decided to tell the authors to combine their draft laws "because their contents are the same".

At its meeting, the faction of the DP also discussed the increase of fuel prices. Then B.Ariunsan, a Vice Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, gave a report. After this the faction decided to have parliament impose responsibilities upon L.Purevdorj, the president of the Bank of Mongolia, and D.Amarsaikhan, the head of the Oil Authority. “The Bank of Mongolia did not take any measures against the rise of U.S dollar rate,” the faction says.
