Minister G.Zandanshatar in Abu Dhabi

Foreign Minister of Mongolia G.Zandanshatar attended the First Session of the Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IREA) held in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates on April 4-5.

This was an important meeting to mark the announcement of the official and legal launch of the Agency and the election of Abu Dhabi as its permanent seat.

On the sidelines of the IREA General Assembly, Foreign Minister Zandanshatar paid a working visit to the United Arab Emirates and met with Foreign Minister of UAE Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Their meeting focused on bilateral cooperation in energy, agriculture, mining and construction.

“UAE is eager to deepen its relationships with Mongolia” said Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the meeting. He stressed the importance of ratifying bilateral agreements on mutual protection and encouragement of investment and on exemption from double tax, in order to promote investment between the countries.

Zandanshatar also held separate meetings with Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan and officials from the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation. They talked about increasing number of Mongolian students in Emirates and cooperating in use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
